Reservations: Please call or e-mail us to schedule your party at least 2 to 4 weeks in advance of your desired party date (earlier dates can be scheduled for those "last minute" parties - call or email to see if the date is open!).
Once you have chosen a party date and time, we will hold your reservation for one week to give you time to complete the guest list, sign the party agreement, and return it to us with your deposit. Your deposit will secure your reservation, and we will begin finalizing and mailing the custom invitations.
Deposit: A non-refundable $75 deposit is required to secure your party date. You may pay this deposit by cash, check, money order or PayPal (we will send you an invoice for the deposit or you can pay with our "Pay Deposit" page). Balance of party (minus the deposit) is due the day of the party.
Forms of Payment: We accept cash, PayPal, checks or money orders made payable to Melissa Stinson. You do not have to have a PayPal account to use PayPal. If you choose the PayPal option, we will send you an invoice to your email address for payment.
The balance of the party is due the day of the party. If you are using the PayPal invoice option, the balance of the party invoice will be sent two days before the party for you to pay.
Gratuity & Tipping: A gratuity is not required, but is accepted and always appreciated for a job well done.
Minimum/Maximum attendance: Our party packages are designed for a minimum of 8 guests (including the guest of honor), and a maximum of 12 guests (including the guest of honor). Parties smaller than eight will be charged for the 8 guests minimum price. If you invite 10 and only eight attend, you will not be charged for no-shows, just the 8-girl minimum price. We can accommodate parties greater than 12, but an additional hostess is required for a fee of $75 added to your package.
How far do you travel for a party? Wishes Upon Wishes services the Dallas and surrounding areas. An additional mileage fee of $1.50 per extra mile added to the final balance should the party location be over 30 miles from the 190/75 intersection.
RSVP Confirmation: We will contact you at least four days prior to your party to confirm your final guest count. This will be the number we use to determine appropriate quantities for costumes, favors, crafts, and food (if applicable), and we will charge accordingly.
Attendance of guests: Some guests may not show up to the party, even if they RSVP. If you invite 10 and only eight attend, you will not be charged for no-shows, just the 8-girl minimum price.
Party Set-up and Preparation: We arrive at your home or location of your choice, 2 hours prior to the start of the party to decorate and set up. If it is a larger party, we may need to arrive 2 1/2 hours early to decorate and set up.
Guest attire: Many of our parties include costumes and dress up. The children do not get undressed, and we asked that the girls come prepared wearing a leotard, bathing suit or slip to wear under their party attire. Girls attending a princess party have the option of bringing along a pair of dress shoes to wear with their dress.
Siblings and other guests: Our party packages cover only the guest of honor and their guests. Please include any siblings in the final guest count if you would like for them to participate in the party activities.
Can boys attend the party? If you have siblings, relatives or other boys that will be at the party, we can accommodate with advance notice. I can provide dress up items for knights, pirates or princes. Even though the parties are generally centered around young ladies, boys can have fun dressing up, playing party games, doing crafts and having tea!
Can I have a party midweek or on Sunday? Yes, parties can be accommodated on any day of the week, subject to availability. We even have "playdate" parties! You don't need to have a birthday to have fun dressing up and have a tea party!
Late arrivals: Please advise all guests that the party will begin promptly at the scheduled time. All activities are carefully planned out, and any child arriving late may join the activities at the point that they have progressed. This is necessary to ensure the least amount of disruption to the party, and your understanding is appreciated.
Adults at party: We ask that only the parent(s) of the birthday child (and maybe one or two other guests such as grandmothers/aunts, etc.) please stay for the duration of the party to attend to possible needs of the children. If parents choose to stay, we ask that they please stand out of the way while the activities are under way. With lots of Princesses and lots of fun activities, space is limited and we need their full attention.
Food Allergies: If you choose to hire Wishes Upon Wishes to provide a catered menu for your event, it is the responsibility of the client to check with party guests for specific food allergies. Should any of your guests have severe food allergies, please let us know and we will try to offer another selection for them.
Party Areas: We need an area to set up the Tea Party (kitchen table, dining table, etc. with enough seating for all participants). We ask that you please provide an area for the children to change into costumes (bedrooms, bathrooms or other areas). We provide a small backdrop that children can change behind/in. Keep in mind, they will have on leotards, etc. so they will be covered. We also need an area to make an activity (frames, mirrors, etc.) We can provide additional seating if necessary for tea (table and chairs).
Inclement weather/illness: If you choose to cancel the party due to severe weather or illness, please remember that your deposit is non-refundable. We will gladly work with you to reschedule your party for an alternate date. Please be advised, if new invitations, food or beverages are needed there will be an additional charge. In the case of severe weather or unforeseen circumstances/illness, Wishes Upon Wishes reserves the right to reschedule your party.
Cancellations and rescheduling: Once your party is booked and the deposit is paid, the party can only be postponed one time. Based on availability, we will gladly work with you to reserve an alternate date for your party. If you decide to cancel your party for any reason, the deposit is non-refundable. Please remember, there will be an additional charge if you wish to re-send invitations to your guests.
Parking: Please allow ample space in your driveway or garage or in front of your home for us to park, as we will have heavy items to carry into your home. In case of rain or snow, entrance through a covered garage would be greatly appreciated (Fairy Godmothers can melt!)
Liability: Wishes Upon Wishes and its owners and employees assume no responsibility or liability for accidents, allergies relating to food items, clothing, or make-up, injuries to party guests, or property damage. As professional event planners, we can assure you we will provide a safe and entertaining environment for your guests, and will treat your home like a “royal palace”.
Damage: We understand that accidents can happen, however, the client may be held responsible for excessive damage sustained to costumes and property of Wishes Upon Wishes.
Other Considerations: For purposes of maintaining the highest quality of our costumes, we kindly ask that any food and beverages that will be served to the children while in costume be approved beforehand. Beverages should be light colored or clear (no cola products or fruit punch) and please, no food items containing tomatoes, tomato sauce or dark colored jellies. We reserve the right to refuse certain food items that may damage our costumes. Please let us know beforehand what food items you would like to serve. Although we understand accidents may happen, the client may be held responsible for excessive damage to Wishes Upon Wishes property.
Client Obligations:
Photos: Wishes Upon Wishes may use pictures from our parties for promotional purposes on our website, print ads or publications. Names of the children will never be printed with the photos.
